A brief history
Over the last fifteen years Kyri has been involved in senior management teams (at Director level) of businesses that operate in the property and leisure sectors.
Recently Kyri has been active in the sectors of property development and the management and acquisition of luxury apartments in London's premier districts.
As a Director of Liveras Yachts and Mediterranean Yachts Shipping Co he was responsible for projects that amounted to an investment in excess of €160 million. As Managing Director of SeaChange his experience in sales and marketing was used to attract some of the world’s wealthiest people from royal families and film stars to CEO’s of some of the world’s largest companies. Part of his unique marketing and sales strategy was the appointment of three of the world’s leading luxury yacht brokers to promote the concept to their clients and contacts.
In 1983, prior to joining Liveras Yachts, he started Fleur de Lys Automobiles, a company created to manufacture 1920's style vans. As Managing Director he led the company in developing a successful, prestigious product in a niche market. Within two years of start-up the company employed 80 staff and had achieved 35% gross profit, (9% net). The business was export led, selling to over 40 countries. Exports grew to 82% in 1991 and reached 90% by 1993. The company won an Exporter of the Year Award presented by HRH The Duke of Kent. This award gave Kyri experience of live TV and Radio interviews. Under his leadership the company subsequently developed its own sports car.
Before his role in Fleur de Lys Automobiles he joined Fleur de Lys Patisseries as a Management Trainee, one of the UK's largest privately owned patisserie companies, in 1976. He was appointed to the board in 1979 and subsequently promoted to Operations Director responsible for all aspects of a satellite operation. Its success saw another promotion to Sales and Marketing Director. Under his leadership sales were increased to customers such as Birds Eye, BHS, Sainsbury's, and Marks & Spencer and the awareness of the Fleur de Lys Patisseries brand was developed in retail outlets. He played a key role in the build-up of the company that was sold to the Grand Metropolitan Group. At the time of the sale, turnover was £14m and the company employed 600 people.
